Last night, around 9pm, there was a disturbance outside Abbey Grange School, opposite the Millhouses Pub.

There were about 30 youths that looked to be fighting and about 6 Police cars turned up to break it all up.

This was just before the fireworks were heard in the same area, so I am not sure if the two are related.

I have seen the thread about the Broadfield, but I am not sure if this was the same trouble as it's quite a distance between the two.

Don't know if the youths were pupils of the school, but they appeared to be centering around the grounds.

Someone else commented on this at work this morning, they were on their way to Tescos and were concerned when they saw gangs of youths fighting with each other.

Did anyone else see this or know who or what etc?

There was an open evening at Abbeydale School last night to celebrate their media arts status. The fireworks were let off by the school, not youths.

This also explains the youths hanging around on the school fields.

There was a disturbance outside the Broadfield Pub around that time.

The fireworks were indeed set off by the school. Supplied by the owner of the fireworks shop on Abbeydale Road. The fireworks were behind schedule due to the disturbance at the Broadfield. I'm unaware of any disturbance outside the Millhouses.

There was police in attendance at the school, so any fighting kids would have been dealt with pretty quickly.

In an unconnected incident there was an ambulance in attendance at the school, but this was in no way related to any violence, disturbance or accidental injury. Purely an allergic reaction to peanuts.

Last night was the launch night for the schools new Media Arts Status, with all sorts of stuff going on, including an international food evening.

Hope that clears it up ;)

I also saw a gang of youths fighting. They appeared to have come from the school grounds, although I am not sure if this was a route from elsewhere or if they were attending that night.

The trouble itself was by the site where the old petrol station was and there was definately a few police cars that turned up.

I do not know if this was related to what was going on down at the Broadfield, but there was definately trouble opposite the Millhouses pub like Lalaland says.

I know what I saw and the person in the office also commented to me today before I even mentioned it, so that's 3 of us that saw this.

apologies... there was indeed trouble. Not between the current pupils of the school but ex-pupils.

Started with 2 ex pupils fighting and ended up with others coming round to join in.

The police officer on duty at the school got it dealt with and one of the school staff had called the police from the pub.

It can't have been all that riotous tho, as i didnt see a thing :D
