call me sad and nostalgic but i found this website and had to share it with someone. it has colour pictures of the second world war and it has an amazing amount of character.
some of the pictures sent shivers down my spine, in particular one of three pilots stood in front of a plane about to go out on a mission and it just struck a chord.

Looks like a good website Blademan. There's nothing sad about it either. I've seen grown men reduced to tears at the sight of a barrel rolling Spitfire or a Lancaster bomber swooping past. The throaty growl of the Rolls Royce Merlin cetainly has an effect on me.

great site mate
I get all choked up seeing the miles of graves of a generation lost to senseless wholesale slaughter.
When you think of the technology, art, science, people, that we DON'T have now because the people who may have discovered, invented, developed, designed or created were destroyed in their youth along with all their potential.
How very sad.
Probably the most meaningful image depicting the most senseless killing was in the Black/White gallery.
It was picture 131/193 somewhere around page 15.
I won't post the link to it, it shows an execution.
My fascination could be morbid, but some may be upset by it. Please don't look if you are easily upset.
