My 1977 wall mounted heating boiler Glow Worm 80 fanned flue is not starting up.
The spark igniter lights the pilot light, but nothing else happens, except that the igniter carries on sparking.
I can make the boiler work by using a blow lamp to helping the pilot light start up the main flame, but this is getting tedious.
The pilot light seems OK.
Anybody know what to do ?
David.
Judging by the age of your boiler your well over due for a replacement.
Contact MickeyET from here, he will get you sorted.

Hi,
Thanks for your brief reply, but that is not really what I wanted to hear.
Too easy these days to scrap things when they have not served a reasonable useful life.
Probably cost £700 to replace, but I didn't get rich by wasting money in this way.
Thanks for your good intentions.

I Know This Boiler Well, When System Calls For Heat, Fan Should Start Then Click Of Sparks, Pilot Light Then Main Jets On.
Yours Sounds To Be Thermocouple Next To Pilot Light, No Signal No Main Burner, Or Circuit Board Fault, If So I Can Sell You A Second Hand Board From My Old One Which I Replaced.

Yep, but as long as you can still get the parts nothing is beyond repair just depends how much customer wants to spend on it.
