I've just stumbled across this edition of All In the Mind on Radio 4 - with a feature on how Knitting is good for depression, pain management and memory.

It starts at around the 15 minute mark.
Do you think I could ask my doctor for a presciption for some Rowan Kid Silk?!
Cheers, Carrie

You should check out Stitchlinks who are researching the therapeutic benefits of knitting. They have a newsletter and support group.

I'm currently reading Zen & the art of knitting, i'm not particularly religious but it's a very interesting subject

Oooh, that looks interesting. However, my reading pile is unmanageable at the moment. I keep buying stuff to read - and then realise I haven't mastered the art of knitting and reading at the same time.
