I'm looking for a USB webcam, with a 640x480 image size, that'll plug into a PC running Linux with minimal fuss.

I got a logitech one, but the 3rd party drivers need all sorts of messing about to get it working.

I want to use it to take timelapse pictures.

I'm running Suse Linux v9.2

Any sugestions?

Thanks.

K.

Unless your willing to pay in between £60-80, forget it, webcams for *nix are VERY expensive and difficult to get hold of.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but, that's one of the downfalls of Linux.

You can apparently get the Logitech Quickcam 4000 working using the Phillips drivers? here (http://www.seismo.ethz.ch/linux/webcam.html)

Seen similar thing mentioned about the 3000. Apparently it's the Philips "pwc" (Phillips Web Cam) drivers you use, which you get here (http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/)...

Good luck...
