After the hoo-hah about the famous speeding policeman, who still hasn't been charged AFAIK (http://sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40975&highlight=police+speeding), it seems that some measures have been taken.
A police driving instructor court doing 112mph has been banned. Quite why the 159mph copper gets away with it I don't know, but at least the playing field is somewhat leveller...

"It is the latest high profile case involving speeding police officers. Last month Pc Mark Milton, from West Mercia police, was cleared of speeding and dangerous driving despite being caught at 159mph. He claimed he was "familiarising himself" with his new patrol car.
Pc Daniel Swain, of Derbyshire police, who crashed into a house after allegedly driving at 90mph in a 30mph zone, escaped prosecution after the black box recorder that clocked his speed went missing.
A day later Derbyshire police admitted that 59 of its drivers had been caught by speed cameras this year but that not one had been prosecuted."

Ridiculous.

I read that too, the day it was reported.
The thing that caught my attention was the fact that they merely appealed to their superior officer, rather than the CPS who should have been dealing with them.....
It seriously makes me wonder what the point of it all is sometimes. I mean, you try to get through the "miracle" of life, following some of the most rediculous rules imaginable, only to find, the "enforcers" of these rules, have been breaking them "forever"!
The thing is that when the roads are clear it is safe to go these sort of speeds. What's more, according to the report, the Road Policing Group agree as they provided a letter stating "his actions had posed no danger"!
So someone who posed no danger to the public is found guilt whilst the other *#!* who did 90mph in a residential area (clearly dangerous whatever the cconditions) gets off?!? :loopy: :loopy:
