I see on the news that half the people who travelled to Bagdad to offer themselves as hostages have now come back home.

What is it with these people? are they mad? what sense is there in going out to a foreign country to risk being killed. to protect a murdering thug who is not worthy of any consideration.

Do they really think that offering themselves will make any difference to what happens out there, they are just encourageing Saddam Hussain to carry on defying the rest of the world, and making the situation worse. :? :? :?

Some interesting links for those not aware of the situation

The thing that gets me is that the reason for these people returning seems to be that they are upset at the positions given to them. Saddam's troups had them protecting major buildings in Bagdad which meant they may get actually face phsycial danger.

What did they think they were gonna do - have tea and biscuits with Saddam and Bush??

I don't think they should be allowed back into this country. They have made their mind up whom they support.

Just surfing the old threads and found this one In light of the Nick Berg incident I presume none of the human shields would fancy a return visit.
