View Full Version : Wrestling at Ponds Forge - Load of old guff!
 Did anyone else make the mistake of forking out for a ticket to see the wrestling at Ponds Forge on Friday night?
I think I'd have had more fun sitting in the road and smoking a lit stick of dynamite...bloody awful and a waste of money.
it was a waste of money? please inform why.. i like the sound
 I can give you a bloody list!
1. There was no promotion of the event.
2. The ring was the size of a postage stamp.
3. The "wrestlers" looked like they were never more than an inch or two off killing each other, so inept were their efforts.
4. The two Yanks on the bill looked embarassed to be there at all.
5. The highlight of the evening was two men hitting each other with an inflatable hammer (I kid you not!).
I know wrestling isn't real, but neither is Elton John's hair and even with that knowledge I can still say that Sir Hissyfit's barnet is both more convincing and vastly more exciting to watch!
holy hell that sounds crap... how much u pay? and there was no1 u recognised?
We managed to get away with only being scalped for £8 each by proffering student union cards...still feel robbed!
I recognised many of the names on the card, just never seen them put in such a p*ss poor performance!
sheffbag 07-06-2005, 10:45 Alex shane wins another belt *yawns*
Was my sons birthday or would have been there - reports indicate that crowd was quietest of entire tour.
How many were there - first time FWA hits sheff and couldnt go - gutted.
Still always FSW in Stockport or RPW in sheff to go to
I'm going to WWE Summer Bash in Manchester next Sunday..
Dunno what the main event will be though now that John Cena's been traded to RAW from Smackdown!
They all ruddy called it in...you should be glad that you didn't waste your money on a ticket. If that was all the FWA are prepared to muster on their first outing to Sheffield then they probably should stay away in future unless they are prepared to devote far more time and money to the promation, venue and talent as well as planning out some decent matches rather than relying upon works that were old when Big Daddy was still squashing other fat blokes in the ring.
As I mentioned before, I really felt sorry for Joe Legend and D'Lo Brown as they are half-way decent workers who really deserve to be treated better. None of the talent looked anything other than amatuerish as they fluffed moves and just looked as though they couldn't be bothered to put in the effort.
If the crowd were quiet it was because they were wishing the ground would open and swallow them up...in the end we just upped and walked out it was that bad.

Surely they'll strip the half-baked prat of the belt before he gets shipped off to loose to Tripper and his nose?!?
What a turnaround from last year when they had Benoit & Gurrero as champions...now you have those two clowns...who's worse, the lummox or the chav?

Hard to believe that the same promotion responsible for the debacle on Friday could have had a hand in that card in Coventry!

Pathetic, poor, half-ars*d, lame, weak, limp-wristed, awful, soul-destroying, cringe-worthy...I could go on.

His wife's just had a baby so he's on paternity leave at the moment.
He'll probably come back later this year when t'little 'un is a bit older.

Just in time for them to involve the tot in an angle where DDP comes back for a second crack at the WWE...that way they can have him kidnap the nipper to get Callaway's attention and when the father and child are reunited they can face DDP and Kenzo Suzuki in a tag match where the infant humiliates and pins Page.
Vince McMahon, such a genius.:heyhey:
more than likely that will be the storyline, or pauls bearer turns out to be the father?

Apparently rumours are going round at the minute that Cena will be traded back to Smackdown in less than a couple of weeks time.. it will be interesting to see how they put that angle over though.
sheffbag 10-06-2005, 06:15 Cena will go back after Christian is traded over and starts provoking him hence cena "demands" to go back
Can anyone say "same as triple H last year"
same as triple h last year, its looking that way.. unless wwe pull 1 a their tricks
I tried to watch RAW this week, really I did.
I was waiting to see the ECW talent turn up with Paul Haymen, but they had that tedious contract signing first...singularly Batoaster and Triple Naitch bore me, together in a ring and not even working a match they're more effective than a general anaesthetic!:gag:
how can triple h bore ya?

His matches are boring and predictable... Punch, punch, running knee lift, bang you over the bonce with a sledgehammer, Ric Flair distracts the Ref, HHH does a low blow to the knackers, hits his Pedigree move... Then the match is over.
Same every time.

Who's betting that within six months time both Psychisis and Super Crazy have held the cruiserweight title on multiple occasions, lost the belt in a bizarre angle with a clapped out old grappler/diva/midget/wrestling primate and are the first two in and out of a cruiserweight battle royal at one of the "pretend" supercards?
