View Full Version : Half way through the season (YOUR THOUGHTS)
CorkerSWFC 19-12-2008, 11:01 Im quite happy with the way the season has panned out for Wednesday so far, i would have settled for 3 points off the play offs a week before crimbo at the start of the season, whats every1 elses thoughts (Wednesday or United)
Could and should do a hell of a lot better. Kevin Blackwell is sure to know this, So get em at it and lets have a better 2nd half. The owls are doing a lot better than most owls fans thought, But can they keep it up with a small squad ,Injurys kicking in all the time heavier pitches pulls and tears are commonplace this time of year They will do well to stay in the top 10 imo
Stockers 19-12-2008, 12:16 C - could do better.
Had a few decent results but also let ourselves down on a few occasions, i expect things to be better in the second half of the season. I think a lot rests on the January transfer window and how wisely everyone spends the transfer kitty.
Thingything 19-12-2008, 12:26 Am well chuffed with where we are in the league, football isn't pretty but its results that count, hats off to BL
NEKRO138 19-12-2008, 12:27 As a Wednesday fan, I'm pleased with our position in the table. Yes, the injuries are a shame but if we can cope with the injuries, we might be able to get a few back and fit for the second half of the season. With Johnson, Esajas and Sodje fit alongside Tudgay and unbelievably Leon Clarke it looks like we can threaten teams. Our young defenders have done well too.
The only real negative is the couple of hammerings we've taken, but it does happen and at least it doesn't seem to have affected the overall performance of the team too much.
alex3659 19-12-2008, 14:11 not pleased with uniteds position at all.
wednesday are doing very well .
As a United fan I'm quite happy. It would have been good to have done a bit better against the bit teams, and the result against Wednesday is once again a disgrace... but all together not a bad position to be in when going into the new year.
I feel that with a couple of good signings in Jan and we could have a good chance at the playoffs... Once you're in the playoffs, who knows what will happen. I don't expect promotion this season, but it's great while the chance is still there.
freyasdad 19-12-2008, 15:20 Fairly content with our start.
There is still a lot to play for so lets see.
I think that our squad will shine through especially this time of year.
I'm honestly delighted with how we're doing considering the injury's we've had and the player's we've got. I think bl is doing a terrific job and iif we can get through january without having to sell anyone (particularly the back 4 and grant) i think we may have a cheeky shot at the play off's . Just hope we find someone as gullible as we we're to take franny the fox off our hand's .
I think that united are about where they deserve to be in the league, not good enough to trouble the automatic spots but too good to me mid-table.
If we can click of christmas and put together a decent run of results we should be comftably in the playoffs come the end of jan.
I think the size of our squad will help us now.
Funky_Gibbon 19-12-2008, 20:50 I'm fairly happy at this stage of the season, especially what with not being able to put out the same team for two games in a row. Wednesday's away form has been very worrying but has been better lately. Even with our away form we've managed to keep in touch with the play-off places so I'm cautiously optimistic about the 2nd half of the season.
The Manager 19-12-2008, 22:23 Think both teams are doing ok , i really hope we both stay up the league
very happy so far. without any money and a very small squad laws is doing a superb job.:thumbsup:
