I was on the net yesterday and my laptop froze. Since then it has been freezing, not switching on etc. I ran a virus scan and it came up with Trojan.... it said it had fixed the problem but Im only using a free security programme and am concerned it hasnt as I'm still having problems. Ive looked on the net and this Trojan thing sounds quite bad. Any advice?

First thing make sure you update both your antispyware and anti virus software.
Run a full scan in "Safe Mode". (I.e when you turn off your computer click "restart" then after the computer switches off, repeatedly tap the F8 button..
This should lead to a screen with options, use the curor arrow keys to select
"Safe Mode".)
When you are in "Safe Mode" you can then select your AntiSpyware and Anti Virus programs as normal.
Run a "Full System" scan.
If any malware is detected it should be quarantined by the antispyware or antivirus.
To make sure this is the case always run the scan again just to make sure.
If the problem isn't solved then either download some of the recommended antimalware software listed in the thread alluded to above.
SuperAntiSpyware is another excellent free product that you might want to download.
