Spire in Chesterfield are supposed to be good and for import / performance cars I can reccomend www.4i.com you can ring them, they are not just internet based.

Most companies will let you pay monthly. You get what you pay for,you may be the safest driver in the world therefore others around you are not.All insurance is a waste of money until you need it.

You will never find an Insurance company that is the cheapest.

There are so many factors that work out your premium that what is cheapest for me would probably be the cheapest for you.

My suggestion is do the same as I do.

Fill in loads of the Online forms, including the ones that submit to many companies at once. www.confused.com www.elephant.co.uk etc.

Get the Yellow Pages and ring all the 0800 numbers.

Dont forget the places you wouldn't expect, Post Office, Tesco's etc.

Once you have got your quotes if one of the cheaper (but not the cheapest) companies is one of the more reputible companies then ring them back and give them your lowest quotes. Most companies will beat / pricematch any genuine quote.

As for weekly payments I would be very surprised if you found one. Most will except Monthly payments (usually a small amount extra to the total) but will usually ask for 2 months upfront then 10 monthly payments for the first year.

Slightly off topic, but does anybody understand the difference with the company thats advertising "No Claims Protection" for life. (More Than ????)

Surely they mean as long as your insured by them and isn't that what all the companies do with Protected No Claims.

I'm quite a young driver and Direct Line are the cheapest for me.

Try confused.com, it searches through loads of insurers.

Im insured with Tesco.I always advise anyone to buy their insurance online-that way you get to see EXACTLY what youre paying for.A lot of the insurance policies contain elements that may not be of any use to you(driving in europe, roadside assistance etc.)

try AA who search around a number of insurers, then find out who the cheapest is and go direct to them and seave even more. This is what i have done in the past. Also apply on line and save more
