My daughter and friends found this wheelchair (http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l30/arpedubya/IMG_0182.jpg) abandoned in bushes near Tapton School/Ranmoor Church about two weeks ago. It's ended up cluttering up my house and I'm not really sure what to do with it... Preferably return to proper owner but if that is not possible, maybe it is of use to some care home or mobility organisation or whatever - no matter as long as it finds a good home and use and has anyone got any ideas or would like to take it off my hands? post here or pm me...!

I saw a notice in my Dr's. surgery re. hiring of wheel chairs from the Red Cross:
(0114) 266 0656
There's also Sheffield Community Equipment Loan Service:http://www.scels.com/

The wheelchair may have come from one of these.

Hmm it's not much good as a wheelchair as it doesn't have any foot plates or side rests. The Red Cross often loan out wheelchairs short term, they might take it off your hands if they have spare parts to fix it up.

i would have thought looking at it and using a wheeelchair myself that it belongs to
a hospital or similar.

I'm not sure this wheelchair would be very handy for nipping round town to do the shopping - did you look at the picture?!

It looks a bit ancient (and basic) so my guess is somebody's dumped it deliberately. Either that or it's a miracle cure.

It would be easy enough to get some footplates and arms if not could always nick some from physiotherapy at hallamshire or northern :hihi:

I am sure someone would do a risk assessment and decide a dumped chair was a liability. Maybe donate to a drama group or charity shop.
