i have no idea how to get the internet on my lappy
i've got a usb modem and a router
and im still clueless haha
any help would be much appreciated!

wired from socket on wall, to modem, then wire from modem to router, then wire from router to laptop...........

And a adsl filter in their too at the phoneline end.

When you say USB modem, is it one of the Mobile Broadband ones (like from 3, or O2 etc) or is it a USB WiFi 'dongle' ??

its from virgin media
it connects from the modem into the pc via usb cable :)
