indizine 14-12-2008, 14:11 Hey that's a great video.
NPressureCS 14-12-2008, 14:19 Thanks. Just hope the customers think the same.
indizine 14-12-2008, 14:22 do you charge per sq. mt?
NPressureCS 14-12-2008, 17:02 Yes the area is worked out into square metres and then all the job details are input to an excel programme to work out the price.
ChrisTodd 14-12-2008, 18:12 A good idea and a good video.
Good to see the Internet being put to imaginative uses when it comes to advertising and promotion.
NPressureCS 15-12-2008, 11:06 Thanks.
Does anyone know where is the best (free) place on the internet to store before and after photos of all my work, this way I can give customers a link to look at rather than sending large email files with pictures attached.
I have looked at photobucket but if anyone has any better suggestions?
ChrisTodd 15-12-2008, 17:31 Freewebs, now called just Webs allow you to make a website, and they host it for free.
The website design is basic as it is all done using standard formats, but it makes it easy for the user to produce their own web site, and everything is free.
The link is www.webs.com

Excellent as they say a picture paints a thousand words.
indizine 17-12-2008, 08:28 As you already have a website, can you not upload images there? Ther are scripts available that are like a slide show effect so that would be a good way to present your before and after pics.
abbasinho 17-12-2008, 12:38 Like Indizine says upload the images to a new page on your site. As you've used tables to build your site it'll be quite easy to build a picture grid with a before shot on the left and an after shot on the right.
The viewer would then simply scroll down the page to view other examples.
I'd probably go for that over a script that might go against the layout and style of your existing site.
sharpend 17-12-2008, 15:48 Top video
Funnily enough - someone asked me the other day if we had a youtube channel
Interesting how video marketing has taken off
NCS - added you as a "friend" in YT
NPressureCS 17-12-2008, 21:30 Thanks for the comments everyone they are really encouraging. I am putting a gallery page on my website early next year but I have loads of photos of my different work so just wanted to put them all in one accesable place without overkill on my site.
Optimize 17-12-2008, 22:40 Youtube videos and other web 2.0 stuff like (flickr, facebook), are amazing in terms of marketing and seo. Make sure your linking back to your home page and even get your tags, as keyword phrases :thumbsup:

NPressureCS 18-12-2008, 00:16 Whats the best blog site to use?
sharpend 18-12-2008, 07:48 Whats the best blog site to use?
wordpress
But don't get a free theme - spend a few quid to make it match the rest of your site
sharpend 18-12-2008, 08:34 edit - should have added that we have dabbled with music & sound on our online training courses.
Most music is heavily copyrighted - so be careful if you try this at home kids.
However, jamendo.com is a site featuring tons of royalty free music of all "genres" - most are after a record deal and celebrity lifestyle etc etc but failing that, a link to them or credit usually suffices...
abbasinho 18-12-2008, 12:02 I'd agree with Wordpress. There are plenty of free, blank themes out there that you can adapt to your site style. But it can be a nightmare to get your head around, especially if you're a bit of a beginner. But once you've figured it out you're flying. Wordpress is ace.
Optimize 18-12-2008, 17:50 In terms of SEO for wordpress. Now there are two different versions. wordpress.com and wordpress.org.Go with wordpress.org, this will have to be downloaded and put onto a host or server. This is better for seo, as it allows you to control the url's to make them search engine friendly and you can even implement plugins like the all important seo-for-all package.
I can implement this as a service if required or can advise you on how to implement yourself.
