View Full Version : Holiday Romance...Please help!!!
unisign124 13-12-2008, 09:52 Hi,
I met a great guy from Sheffield last week while we were both on holiday in Australia.
We spoke for hours and he gave me his number but since I have returned home I can't find it anywhere.
All I have are the following clues:
He was in Oz visiting relations with his sister, parents and best friend.
This was a surprise holiday as he was 40 years old on 27th November.
He works in I.T. in Sheffield and his workmates got him a stripagram for his b/day.
He has an 8 year old daughter called Katylyn who goes to private school.
His wife was called Kate I believe who sadly died of cancer 5 years ago.
He returned back to Manchester Airport on friday 12th december.
Please please help me track him down as I really do want to see him again.
Thank you.

unisign124 14-12-2008, 17:05 Hi,
Because I don't know his surname the airport people can't help hence this appeal.
Will try local papers/radio soon.
Thanks
CHAIRBOY 14-12-2008, 17:25 I am amazed that if you were talking for "hours" he didn't mention which area of Sheffield he lived or places he frequented.
I note the spelling of his daughter's name, Katylyn; have you seen that written down? Could it be Caitlin? Didn't you pass on any information about yourself such that he may contact you?
ladyacademic 14-12-2008, 18:29 Of course, it's entirely possible that he's reading this - and is begging all his friends NOT to let you know who or where he is!
unisign124 14-12-2008, 18:37 Hi,
We did indeed talk for hours but I am from Poole, Dorset so I wouldn't know which area of Sheffield was which, all he said was that it was in a nice area with fields to the rear and he even has a hot tub in the rear garden so I imagine its pretty secluded.
I was guessing at the spelling of his daughters name......(does this actually matter)....i remember thinking it was strange that she was left at home when all the other family was in Oz......he was really missing her......the family booked it as a surprise for him but decided not to include her.
I didn't take my mobile.....he did.....and that is the number he wrote down on the beer mat and i took this back to my room and I definately had it the next day but since my return I can't find it.
jennycakes 14-12-2008, 18:43 C'mon Rich come clean, t'was you at it again ??
Rich is far younger and more attractive than described.

Apologies if I've overstepped the mark but curiosity led me to google the OP's username for any other forum searches. The results have me hoping you are not the sole owner of your username
Hi again,

Please help!!!!!!!!
ask the hotel to pass your details onto him ! or ask them to make contact and ask for permission to give you his details ?
kerleytops 15-12-2008, 18:45 can't help but am following this avidly as lead a sad life but losing the plot here - is op / unisign a man or a woman? where does the present for the wife fit in? better than Eastenders.

I was thinking the same thing kerleytops. Nowadays one can't make any assumptions as to gender. Let us know how you get on unsign. We don't get Eastenders over here, but the storyline has a Coronation St ring to it. Let's hope it ends on a happier note than is usually the case on Corrie:hihi:
I`ll light a candle for you.:)

That's given me the best laigh I've had so far this week. Start the day with a grin, eh? :hihi:
Some bizarre sort of holiday romance this turned out to be :suspect:
You might get more readers/feedback if you reposted this on Sheffield discussions. His daughter wasn't with him because she had to be in school. When I was a lad it was possible to take time off from school to go on holiday with your family but this cannot now be done.In fact,I think it's illegal. The best of luck with your search.

Before anyone else falls for the OP's holiday romance sob story you might want to check out the link I posted earlier (and repeated below). Oh, and other forum posts that come up when HIS username is googled appear to subtly tie in with the issue HE has in the aforementioned link.....

Sorry to rumble you Unisign but I regularly read the Contractor UK forum and your post on there aroused my curiosity.
Edit: Somehow I don't think "aroused" is the appropriate word but I couldn't think of any other way to put it.
kerleytops 17-12-2008, 09:47 oooooooooo the plot thickens, Unisign has gone very quiet....
From simonj's link, posted by unsign:
"This is not a bad guess.
He had his birthday bash on 27th November and gave my wife a present nether of us wanted so I'd like to arrange a meeting with him to discuss!!!"
Unsign is a "he" seeking romance with another "he" who in turn has put unsign's wife in the family way.
Just another routine day on Coronation st.
Or, as simon says, we've all been had.
I'm with the latter. Nice one, Mr. unsign.
Unsign is a "he" seeking romance with another "he" who in turn has put unsign's wife in the family way.A pregnancy, you think? I was thinking more along the lines of a nasty little rash :hihi:
don't think so, natjack. The group on the forum that simonj gave us seems to be favoring the pregnancy theory.
But I agree with all those who think this is all a lot of rot anyway.
