Anyone here got experience of planning permission in the Peak District or who can advise on it?

Rather depends on what you are trying to achieve.

Give us a clue.

Planning permission for change of use on a dwelling / adding a building to live/work in.

I know it can be complex and I could do with speaking to someone who knows the rules inside and out.

EDIT: And the rules for building log cabins [not for renting out]!

Call the Peak District National Park Authority and speak to the planners themselves - they will be able to guide you better than anyone!

Yeah I've got the info from their site and will be calling them, but I'm expecting there'll be agents/architects who'll be experienced in trying to put plans through.

Changing the use of an existing building to residents accomodation is tricky - has to be an affordable home for locals in an area where they need one, or possibly linked to a home office of some kind (again possibly only for local businesses). Pretty complicated!

I had an exciting evening reading endless planning applications :)

Adding to this - anyone know a good eco house builder who've had any luck with permissions/building in the peak district?
