I was wondering if anyone can help?

i have opened a port on my router specifically for one program. but my firewall keeps getting blocking pings on that port when the program is shut. is there a way to increase security on the port while keeping it open when the program i want needs it?

set you router to block ICMP and make sure the SPI is enabled.
