how do I get my cat and dog to get on together? Does anyone know of any dog training classes in hackenthorpe area please.

Can you be a bit more specific Hedgehog? Is it the cat that's winding the dog up or vice-versa and is either of them a more recent addition to your family than the other? Try not to worry. If they are new to one another, they will will learn to get on. It just takes a little time and patience. Tell us a bit more about your situation. There's plenty of people on here who have gone through the same thing - us included, so I'm sure you'll get some sound advice. :)

i have introudced queit a ew cats to my dog who is veery very calm but how i did it is, buy a baby gate or dog gate to seperate 2 rooms 1 with the dog in and other with cat in, so i used to keep my dog out of the kitchen and the cat had the kitchen, this will allow plenty or room and interaction with both animals but will allow the cat to come out in its own time, ome people rush it and this can only lead to a very bad outcome, if you let the came come out in its own time itll then get used to the dog a vise versa but make sure you always have somewhere na cat can hide away from the dog, as you know some people get on ur nerves and you just have to get away from animals are same lol

We had a new kitten called tawny recently and her best friend is Badger the dog !!! we do have 2 other cats whom she likes but she just loves to be with Badger all the time

It can be a good idea to swap over some of their bedding too, so they get the scent from each other.

When we introduced Pepper (our kitten) to Guinness (our crazy dog) we gave Pepper our spare bedroom and put a dog gate up at the door so she could come out and see Guinness if she wanted to but he couldn't get in and harrass her, it took a couple of days of hissing but she finally ventured out and now they're best friends, Guinness looks out for her and cleans her ears and she loves to pounce on his tail. :)
