where can i get some new ram/rams(??) from? i have 128 mb of ram but i need 128 mb more. it is to run a computer game if that helps.

p.s. i am very stupid when it comes to computer jargon and am confused easily with talk of ram and gigs and stuff like that so if you could use baby computer talk that would help thanks!!

Go here (http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/) and run the utility, it'll tell you what you've already got in your system, what upgrades it will accept and will then price them up for you.

You can then either order from there or at least you'll know exactly what you need from a local shop.

Can't recommend Crucial enough for speed and reliability in terms of delivery and quality of product...

Generic RAM can usually work but crucial have a reputation (one I've experienced numerous times) of delivering within 24 hours of ordering.. usually next day.

If you only have 128 mb then I guess your computer is quite old. might be worth finding out what type it needs and sticking a post in the wanted section.

Generic Ram is just Ram which is often unbranded, in other words it doesn't come with a name / reputation behind it. It does the job and can do it perfectly well.

Yes... but often you find yourself with some cheap, shoddy junk that doesn't handle its job well or is generally unstable.

This is by no means 100% but the chance of getting crud vs quality is far higher.
