i got my lil girl cat mischa about 2 or 3 weeks ago she is roughly 2-3 yr old not sure, been abandond 3 times, but aparently has never had a litter, but obviously this can never be sure, any1 any advice on how to tel if spayed or if this can even happen, the vets are going to charge25pounds just to shave her see if there is a scar, or the full cost of a spay to open her up dunno what to do

You can usually tell whether they have ever had a litter from their nipples. If she's got as far as 2-3 without having a litter then it's very likely that she's already been spayed.

Could you not clip her side in the right place to check for a spay scar yourself? You could take her for spaying if you don't find the scar then.

(Of course, if she has been brought in through quarantine from some countries or was spayed by continental vets this won't help as she could have a scar on either side, rather than only the left side as is normal with English vets).

no no she has only been transported from barnsley , lol not exacly tropical hehe, how would you be able to tell by nipples,i have thought bout clipping her myslef but she is queit a timid cat at times, and i dont have anyone to hold her as i do it, but like you said i could check nipples and if it dont seam she has then she been done, i couldent trace the original owner and she is microchipped so now im at a dead end, what would i be looking at from her nipples hun i could always try to have a look, would there size shw shes been spayed aswell?only she is a very fat cat even when rescued even though i know she was only on biscuits as a stray fromt he woman who rehomed her as she couldent afford meat for her to and a stray, any help xx
