... Went for a pub meal today, parked my car in the car park... Came out, and usually wouldn't have checked, but don't know why I did check around my car. I noticed a wine glass nicely sat just under my tyre, ready to be run over as I reverse. It didn't happen, thank god I noticed but it does make you wonder who gets their kick out of this.....

There are lots of inconsiderate people around I have to agree. I can't stand people who drop litter, play loud music and think we all want to listen to the crap.

Why have you titled this thread "People are just getting worse..."

You relate a personal, isolated incident. Is this supposed to justify a claim that people are getting worse?

Well at least you didnt get a flat tyre, you have to accept that the majority of people that go in a pub will walk out severly intoxicated and have large tendancies to do stupid things like that. Its life!!

Woke up this morning to find that mine, my boyfriends and the rest of the 2 streets ahead have had their tyres stabbed. So if you live on Dagnam Road or Algar Road, beware!

I think that was the point of the orginal title, wasn't it? WHY??

I don't accept that the MAJORITY of people would do either of the things you say EldonEng. Although I've been severely intoxicated many times in my life and so have most of my friends and acquaintances. I can't think of a single time when it would have occured to us to do something to severely inconvenience a total stranger, except in the most accidental way ie singing and shouting in the street on the way home and so forth.

I didnt mean specifically the glass incident, but most people that come out of a pub do have tendancies to do stupid things. I have seen a lot of people with road work signs, and traffic cones etc things like that. and most people if they leave a pub with a glass will probably leave it somewhere where they perhaps should'nt.

That'll be half term, then. The glass/nail under the tyre is a trick as old as cars themselves. I did a few years at a comprehensive school where the most sadistic of the games teachers used to check his tyres every night before driving off. He usually found something propped against one or more of them. The kids are easily bored now, it seems. At least the bad hats at my school did it to pay him back for some quite patent cruelty.
