My 89 yr old mother bought a £500 second hand scooter from Clarks & Partners after being informed by the salesman that it would be ideal for her. After less than 30 days use the scooter broke down, we contacted C&P who promptly picked it up and took it in to look at it. They informed her that the engine had failed and she needed a new one, of course it was out of guarentee and the £65 insurance that C&P had sold her did not cover this repair. She informed them that she could not afford the £150 cost of the repair so they returned her scooter. She then received a bill for the estimate - £57, not previously mentioned by anyone from C&P. On complaining about this charge and asking them to show a bit of compassion, we were told that C&P are a business - not a charity! I appreciate that, however, my mother is now completely housebound, £622.00 out of pocket and is the owner of a useless piece of junk - care of Clarks & Partners.
