hi im looking at different ideas at the mo to make some small easy cash and have decided to invest in a burger van, which i will go to carboots and events with. i know this isnt alot of money-making but its a 2nd job with another small income and was just wondering how much it would cost me to rent a pitch near a industrial estate or layby or somehting to pitch it a few days a week? I will be taking the van home every day with me so it wont be there 24/7 for security reasons but am just after fees for renting spaces from council and do i need some kind of license for this?

As i say i am looking into it before i go to do it to see how much fees are and what licenses i need firstly so i have all the correct info for it and am prepared.

Anyone got any advice? please note: this isnt our main income and is just extra cash

Have you ever though of a mobile car valeting business. This is something I am considering and would like a partner to join me. It wouldn't cost much to set up initially.

I have considered a francise deal but they want £12000 pounds at the outset!

I don't know how much the licence fees are, but you will need some sort of licence or at least pay rent at a car boot.

Then there is insurance and the burger van and equipment before you even buy the food.

I know someone who used to do this full time and struggled to make money from it.

I would suspect that the inital setup costs, and then the costs of rent / licences, insurance and fuel, will mean you will struggle to make money as a part time venture.

I would guess your initial setup fees alone would be between £5,000 to £10,000.
