Does one exist? I need to write to Vodafone to cancel my contract, and would be handy if I could just do it from my PC because the nearest post office is miles from where I work. So far I have tried:

www.click2post.co.uk - won't let me create an account (I get an osCommerce error).
www.pc2paper.co.uk - doesn't say if they do recorded delivery, and they didn't respond to my enquiry.
www.l-mail.com - same problem as pc2paper.co.uk.
www.tntpost.co.uk/TNT-it - I registered but it's designed for businesses and asks me to add at least £10 credit before I can start sending, but I just want to send a single letter.

At this rate I may as well have gone and driven to the post office!

These services are for low-cost automated processing.

A recorded delivery letter needs to be handed in at a Post Office. This needs a human, is time consuming and expensive.

You may find a friendly Business Centre that would help, but I have never seen an automated service.

The first one in my list (click2post) state on their site they they do offer a recorded delivery service for 75p extra, but unfortunately their site won't allow me to create an account. I'll just take it to the post office tomorrow lunchtime, wasted too much time on this already so another hour won't hurt.

Found out in the end that pc2paper do recorded delivery too, it's an optional extra that costs £1.20

I could be wrong, but I thought Vodafone say that they won't accept recorded delivery to the address they use for contract cancellations? Maybe too much manpower at their end ;)
