I have been many times. Yes it is good. I would only criticise it as being cramped.

We dined there last New Years Eve, and when our taxi failed to turn up the proprietor ran us home. What more can you ask?:thumbsup:

Great to hear that this restaurant is still doing well. Lovely food. One criticism though - the proprietors like to hear their music and, in such a small space, it can dominate the room and become intrusive.

Just ask them to turn it down a bit. They are very obliging types.

We went a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it, amazing food, good service and great value as you can take your own wine - a real gem of a place, will be back soon!!

food better than most places in sheffield.

Just to let all you good forumers know that i am also doing a brand new vegetarian evening once a month.

It will be a fixed price 3 course menu and will run in conjuction with a vegan menu.

the service was ok and the prices reasonable (more so as it's take your own wine) but boy oh boy was the food good.

The OH had the lamb and i had beef.

probably the best food i've had out since rafters 6 months ago.

probably the best food i've had out since rafters 6 months ago.

I must agree with holmehouse92, the food is on par with Rafters and better than most other places in Sheffield.

I went on Friday with friends following a recommendation and was very impressed.

It can't be too long before tables are in short supply at peak times, try it whilst you can!

It's a long time since I've seen anywhere get such positive reviews from everyone on SF...will have to try it out soon...

Just to remind you all, this is a gem of a place. Delicious food, charming service, reasonable prices. Recommended :thumbsup:

Bring your own drink (there are shops on the same block), and watch out for the fact that they don't take credit cards - you can pay with cash or cheques (remember them?)

There are reasons why the restaurant is shut, but I can confirm that Jaf has NOT done a bunk (I'm his brother in law)...

Jaf was seen driving down Broad Lane the other morning, in the van emblazoned with the Ranulphs logo.
Its hardly 'doing a bunk' is it.
