My contract with BT runs out in January. I'm planning on getting Sky TV, Mid broadband and free telephone because the cost is about the same as my BT Option 3 Broadband alone.

At the moment Sky are offering a free Sky+ box if you join before Dec 20th. Does anyone know if it's possible to sign up for them in December but not start the contract until mid-way through January?

Cant comment on o2 but as far as sky goes Funky is making a wise choice.
Im only supposed to get up to 2mb in my area but its never dropped below 5.5.
The customer service is outstanding and because they cocked up me switching my phone line from BT to them they have given me free phone line rental for 12 months:thumbsup:

How long did the swap over take Watcher?
I want to leave AOHELL but the thought of losing my internet for weeks doesn't appeal.

I have just changed from Virgin to sky - took less than 7 days! Very efficient.

So far so good - my speed has gone from 0.5 with Virgin to 1.6 with sky !!! (and they said I could only get 0.5 with them as well!!).

Im on BT and cant get higher than 2meg. An engineer came out on behalf of BT however he is an engineer for all the other internet companies (o2, sky etc...) and he said my line couldnt get higher than 2mg so it didnt matter who i went with. He said sky customer services are rubbish and 02 was ok. He agreed with me when i said BT werent the best but he said the reason we pay more with bt is because there is no middle man. If we need the engineer dept we get through to them etc...where as with 02 etc they have to go through a third party.

Anyway no point me changing if I cant get any better although the others are cheaper I must admit BT have sorted things out quickly in the past for me.
