Hi,

If anyone could post some ideas of what they do at home to entertain toddlers on rainy days it would be really useful! Little Gruff gets bored of his toys very quickly..and I'm trying to avoid the electronic baby sitter (tv) as much as possible!

Ideas so far include baking/pretend cooking with pots and pretend food, making necklaces from old straws and string, drawing, jumping up and down on cushions, making little forts.....any other ideas??

Thanks!

Finger painting, making musical instruments from dried foods and old margarine tubs, if they are a little older making their own christmas cards. :)

Why not let them have a go at real baking? Get one of those chocolate bun kits where you just add an egg. It may be messy but if they like it :)

I made banana muffins the other day with my DD. She loved it. Very easy to do with a toddler, as you put all dry ingrediants together, mash bananas, put all liquid ingrediants together and then put them all together and it's done.

Another thing I do to keep her busy, is just set her up with a mixing bowl, a jug of water, some flour and spoon and it keeps her busy for ages. Messy, but she loves it.
