hi, i filled my car up the other day at a petrol staion on city road an ever since then it has been causing me problems. had the car put on computer and it turns out i have had a bad batch of diesel, water or something in it contaminating it. i am having to run it til its virtually dry then try again somewhere else. anyone else had any problems like this before ???

I once had a bad batch of petrol go through my car's system. It lost all power and had difficulty going up a small hill in 2nd gear lol! Completely knackered it for about 3 minutes until it hit upon some good petrol and started working again lol! Forward the bill for having your car checked out to the petrol station hehe

mines has been like it since saturday morning til now i have had to drive to leeds and back and bridlington and back just to try and run it down. the mechanic says it needs a full tank of good diesel plus a diesel flush. leave the battery off all night and that should resolved it he says. we will see im gonna go fill it later then try what he says

cant understand why leaving the battery off would sort out the problem of a bad batch of diesel??
Also sometimes its best to stick with one company, as the additives in fuel differ from company to company which is why fuel has different names at different stations.(diesel 2000, super premium diesel, etc) and engines may run better if you try not to mix the fuels.

no it wont sort that out but the engine management computer is telling the car its not right and has taken the turbo and injectors off until its sorted and the only was to reset the computer is taking it to ford which they can not fit it in til next thursday or take the battery off all night and allow it to reset its self. once i fill the car back up with new diesel tonight then hopefully all the bad batch will be out and the problems is solved apart from the reset of the ECU
