View Full Version : What's it like in Sheffield today?
I may not be living in Sheffield anymore, but I'm still adicted to the forum!
And I'm feeling a bit homesick today, I need some Sheffield news to cheer me up!
What's the weather doing today?
What's on the front page of The Star?
Have the students gone home yet?
Where was the worst traffic jam this morning?
Is Big John at Breakfast still as annoying as always?
And what's the main tune on repeat on Galaxy 106?
BoroughGal 02-06-2005, 13:08 The weather is bright, but cloudy...
Link to the Sheffield Star (http://www.sheffieldtoday.net/newsfront.aspx?sectionid=58) here.
As for traffic jams etc, can't tell you, been stuck in the house all day with a stinking cold. Feel like rubbish. So there's another snippet of Sheffield news for ya, there's a cold going round!
It rained on me lots during my lunch break. There are still students here doing exams, but it's noticeably quieter. The bus to work in the morning takes no time at all.
Well it rained and people's letter got wet
Sorry for all conserned but i carnt dodge the rain drops for 3.5 hours
:D :D :D

Oh, poor you BoroughGal. So I take it there's some germs floating around then? Hope it's not one of those dreaded 'Man Colds' or you could be in bed for weeks. It's very rare for women to catch them though, so you should be okay.
I actually used to work for The Star so I really can't be arsed to trawl through their website, just wanted to know what the headline is on the front page.

Aw thanks for your concern! And yes, I think it is man flu. I'm certainly doing "poorly voice" at the moment (ask feargal - she'll tell ya all about poorly voice!).
I might just lay down again and have some tomato soup. Or go to me moms, she'll look after me.
Aww Get well soon BG....;) !!
JBee...sorry to hear you are a bit homesick for Sheffield today...maybe you could play with your furry Flaps???
Perhaps you should've called your bunny 'Sheffield'??
Anyway hope we've cheered you up by coming onto the Forum!!
BoroughGal 02-06-2005, 14:20 Ah yeahhhh! I didn't realise before, but I can now place JBee - by her Flaps!
Ahhhh, I have a feeling the Flaps jokes will never get old. And don't worry, as soon as I've got my digital camera figured out I'll be posting lots of pictures of my Flaps for you all to see!
technophobe 02-06-2005, 14:24 Ahh BG sorry to hear your feelin unwell.....
Iam sat at work with what feels like a cold starting.... I think its the bloomin Air Con in this place.
Tomato soup, whilst laying on the sofa covered by a duvet - ah they were the days! Watching Rainbow laughing knowing everyone was doing double maths or double PE at school.

And a LOT windier!! :D
Sorry to hear you're feeling homesick for Sheffield, JBee. :(
If it helps at all, I can arrange to bring you a couple of bottles of Henderson's Relish next time I'm up in Edinburgh?
Some places you might like to try in Edinburgh - Have you been to the Botanical Gardens yet? They're really beautiful, and full of cute red squirrels. Arthur's Seat is lovely too when the weather's nice, and the Meadows are always buzzing, when it's not raining!
Let me know about the Relish!

Just when you think the flaps thing is getting a bit tired and jaded, watch me, I'll go on about it for another 3 weeks! Heh heh - I never tire of inuendo!
My dad pointed out the best one the other day.
Imagine the scenario... I bring a lusty young Scotsman back to my place to ease Anglo/Scots relations a bit, but haven't cleaned the rabbit cage in a while, so said chappy enquires about the odd smell.
"Don't worry," I reply, "it's just my Flaps."
Although I've heard of Edinborough I've never had nothing to do with Arthur's seat.
Sorry to hear it's not much warmer or nicer up there than it is in Sheffield. However , the experts have told us that Global Warming is on its way , so look out any time soon for palm trees in Bonny Scotland and grapes growing all over Attercliffe .
We are all doomed !
urghh:gag:
Good job rabbits don't leave snail trails eh!!
