A Flash Mob as it is termed in America, where the phenomenon originated in June 2003, is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place as a prank further instructions were issued and a group of roughly 100 people converged upon the 9th floor rug department of Macy's store, gathering around one particular rug. Anyone approached by a sales assistant was advised to say that the gatherers lived together in a warehouse on the outskirts of New York, and that they were looking for a Love Rug to play on.
Then everyone leaves all at once.without speaking!

Did no-one here come along to last years in Sheffield?

We had about 150 people standing outside Virgin waiting for Robbie Williams. Then lots of cheerleading girls started screaming and ran inside the shop...

After 5 minutes everyone disappeared mysteriously...

Was a great laugh.
It was even in the Sheffield Star

It's been done now though, dunno why another one's happening. That was last years fad.

This year it's flash clubbing (everyone congregates and dances to music on their ipods or something!)

How about gathering outside the Town Hall and wait for Sheffield United to appear for a civic reception. That should raise a few eyebrows.:heyhey: :heyhey: :heyhey:

Oh, like, Flash Mobbing, thats like, soooo last week... but it can still be fun, no? I would say get involved and do it... I have a bit of inside information that it will be a laugh.

Flash clubbing eh? Hmmm... that idea was probably started by Apple... all you need to do to have a bit of free organised fun is spend a couple of hundred quid on an annoying-to-everyone-else-on-the-bus tinny sounding glorified memory stick... why can't they sell these things with *proper* headphones that only the person wearing them can hear eh? EH? EH?

Hey, I've got an idea, why don't 150 people all suddenly meet together and carry out some socially useful function for the benefit of the city?

Well they tried that, but are being confined to the not very useful area of devonshire green.

How's about "flash flashing?"

150 people all turn up in long trench coats with nothing underneath, stand outside the new "subway" on division street, reveal their respective genitalia to people consuming the sandwiches at the aforementioned food outlet, then disperse.

Anyone?
