Man stabbed after violent clashes
A man suffered life-threatening stab wounds in a fight between two rival gangs during a night of linked violence in Sheffield, police say.
The 26-year-old was stabbed during the clash between two groups of men in an alleyway in Gleadless on Sunday night.

Earlier, a man was glassed at the Bagshaw Arms in Norton Avenue when a group of men burst into the pub "looking for trouble", officers said.

Fighting also took place outside the John O'Gaunt pub in Blackstock Road.

Victim appeal

A 50-year-old man suffered a large laceration to his face, bruising and other cuts during the first altercation.

A number of items of pub furniture were stolen during the later fight at the Bagshaw Arms, South Yorkshire Police revealed.

These are believed to have been broken up and later used as weapons.

The 26-year-old man who was stabbed in the last incident suffered serious blood loss and was taken to hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for the man who was glassed at the Bagshaw Arms to come forward.
