Just a HUGE rant to those who understand. Just been dog walking in the dark around the streets near my house and stood in a huge pile of poop.

Why oh WHY can't people clean it up after their dogs? I don't know whose dog it is but it's the same damn dog that leaves mountains of the stuff all over the same few streets.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

There, I feel better now (can't say the same about my shoes).

Oh I feel your pain!

Which reminds me I need to get a torch for the darker walks... thankfully my two do go in bushes/woods but it's still horrid leaving it when you can't find it because it's too dark. Would never leave it on the path though... even in the dark, you can just about find it without a torch if it's on the path!

I'm with you on this one too! It's so unnecessary. It should be a given that if your dog does it, you clean it up. If I can manage to clear up after 3 or 4 dogs (when walking a group) then surely everyone can do it.

Oooh that would drive me crazy!!

I try to prevent Eddy from peeing on gate posts! (Trees and lamp posts are allowed but gate posts and drives are rude!)

I hate this, i always pick up after my dog, please another reason why there should be more done about irresponsible people who let their dogs wander.

I can only liken it to standing in a mushed up mound of ginger biscuits in warm tea...

Can I say 'Ick'?

I definitely need a torch. Damn fine idea. I'll go buy one tomorrow :)

You certainly can say "ICK!" - it's vile, to leave your dog's poop in the street.

My dog is only a little Jack Russell, and her poops are more like rabbit *richard the thirds*, but I still have scoopy bags to clean up after her.

and if *I* can clean up after my dog, from a wheelchair, NO-one has any excuse for leaving their dog's poop.

There's a dog around my district and judging from the size of the poops this thing leaves behind it (well the OWNER does) I think it's part elephant. it's disgusting.

yess...Totally disgusting, there's no excuse and no need!!!!! A pack of nappy bag's only cost's a few pence!!!

I'll bet the owner of these dutty dog's does'nt tread in the mess left behind! They just leave that pleasure to everyone else:gag:

I've got a poo torch! It's brilliant, tiny little LED torch on a keyring that I have attached to my bag I take out with the poo bags in. Very handy.

I think you get white pooh or a more whiter pooh when does are fed on Barf as all the bone etc makes the pooh whiter :o could be wrong though.
And i agree leaving dog pooh on paths is just gross and so lazy

your right Adz white poo is form dogs fed on bone matter, when mine have bones their poos get harder and whiter.

if i can manage to pick up after all mine then noone has an excuse, it drives me mad, we have several people in our neighbourhood who dont pick up and ive often got the blame as i have "all those dogs" my answer is always that if id didnt pickup we there would be a hell of a lot more poo 8 dogs produce alot. if mine are off in the woods then i leave it as its often hard to find and is also not on paths. annax

I saw someone let their dog poop in the street and walk off. It made me so mad i wound my car window down and asked her if she was going to pick it up. (It was also next to a lamppost that stated there would be a up to £1000 fine for fouling) She said she didnt have to as it was in the gutter.... (is that right??)
The dog had been allowed to poop right infront of a parked cars wheel. Why should that car have to drive through her dogs mess??

Which brings me on to another annoyance... Horse poop in the road! aaargh!

I also feel better for having a rant!

Thanks!

Eweyyyyyy maybe you need to conduct a stakeout to find out who the culprit is!!!

It may be a wandering dog that someone just lets out to walk themselves!

Thanks!

It's easy to get it off your chest (but not off your shoes) on this forum :)

On another matter. Zach has decided to throw up buckets of vom all over my bedroom floor. I've cleaned it and cleaned it, but it still smells bad (damn carpets).

Any suggestions on de-smelling it!?

I'm having the best of weeks, aren't I?

There is no legal requirement to pick up horse poo and it isnt as dangerous as dog poo. You would be hard pushed to pick it up if you are sat on a horse, I can just see the riders with a bucket and shovel attatched to the saddle.:hihi:
There has been a thread on horse poo on the road on Discussions some while ago and it got quite heated if I remember.:hihi: You can always scoop it up yourself its great for the garden Katsclaws.

I take Josh out at 5 am before work and take my wind up torch, its difficult finding it so I keep him on the lead until he performs, hes a two bob a morning chap, one in the garden and one on the field....:hihi: Torch serves two purposes tho, I can see the unpicked up pooh as I walk round the field!

I had heard that if there is dog pooh on a walk used by children to get to school street force will come and clean it away as it is a health hazard i.e. children falling over and stepping in it

Well Streetpride Rotherham dont feel the same way. My sister lives on a cul de sac which is used by the kids going to school at the end is a grassy area that leads to a wood and the place is covered. My sis has phoned and written several times to get a poo bin put up, as it is a dog walking area come school route and every kid and dog on the estate uses it. They did come out and said it wasnt a problem area and spray painted the signs on the approaching road and thats that. No other signs or bin and it is still a huge problem.

when I am walking in Netheredge i see people leaving poo alot so i now always offer them a bag to put it in.
They normally look quite embaressed and so they should !!!
I always use the poop bins provided and if theres none avaliable I take it home and place it down the toilet or in the doggy toilet depending on where i am at the time.

Yes the beaches , I still find it hard to believe people still allow their dogs to do that there especially where there are children. I took 3 of our respite children to the coast for the day last summer and one of them got poop all over her clothes just by playing tennis and football. she was very distressed by it all. thankfully we took spare clothes and acohol disinfectant along with plenty of baby wipes.
Also where i come from on the Isle of Wight still alot of people allow their dogs to do it there. I always pick up after my dogs as if we don't we will get banned from there totally and my dogs love the sea and sand.
