yes but at least you will be able to get on them to go somewhere when the new hourly service starts here is the timetable

http://www.dsag.org.uk/NewServiceTimes.htm

I doubt there'll be any long term demand.

It'll be interesting to see how long the service lasts, once the novelty's worn off.

is there free parking at Dronfield?

What's the pick-up facility like?

And as for more trains passing the garden, don't they pass there anyway - it's just that they'll be passing slower and more quietly if they're stopping

Slower, yes.....

Quieter? Not sure about that.....

Pass the garden anyway? Yes, but more of 'em, including some early morning Sunday jobs.

Sorry - missed these bits.

Free Parking? Yes, but on PAYOR basis.

Don't know what "pick-up facility" means, sorry!

PAYOR? what does that mean?

pick up facility is where you drive up and pick up somebody who's arrived by train

"Park at your own risk" (Londonism, sorry!)

As regards the other bit, the car park's alongside the southbound (presumably) platform, but open to all-comers. Quite large, I suppose, but invariably full most days for some reason. Unlit.

Was the line there when you bought the house?

Yes. Presuming your point being "why did you buy, already knowing that?", you could liken it to your nearest road suddenly bearing a sudden increase in traffic.

Not much you can do about it, granted, but it doesn't mean you have to like it!
