How can you tell if RAM is DDR1 or DDR2??? as i have 512mb of DDR1 that bro in law wants but he dont know what type his is his pc is about 3 year old.thanks

3 years will more or less be DDR1

also look at this picture and match the notch where the gold pins are, Notice the notch is not in the middle.

this is DDR2, the notch is more in the middle and the gold connectors are a lot smaller
