Can anyone suggest a good reasonably priced one?

Depends what you want to knit on it. Different machines are better at different things. Japanese ones for small faisle type knitting electronic for complex pictures passap for jaquard and double bed Bond for chunky. They are a bit like computers great when they work can be very tempremental and I don't know of any that are intuative to use ie easy. If you are thinking of speed knitting for Chrimble don't. Ebay has a good source of cheap machines.
Hope that is of some use.

The Bond machine gives a handknit effect and is good with aran and chunky wool. Ok with 4ply but prefers double knit ot thicker. Probably the easiest to master but still be weary and don't touch it if you are stressed, (replacing windows is expensive). Not to mention the weather is very cold at the moment
