Hi there - my laptop runs out of warranty in approx one week and I keep getting the message "Windows sidebar has stopped working" - is this something I need to panic and find my receipt and whip it back to curry's or is it just a simple nuisance???!!!

Your advice would be welcome... Also - the right hand side of the screen has gone a bit dark!!! Is this connected??? Ta

take it in just in case! Screens are very expensive! The windows sidebar thing just sounds like software though (that probably won't be covered by warranty)

vista does this quite often, also the dark side of the screen is a side effect of the missing sidebar

Vista is fine....

Then again I switched all the sidebars and fancy stuff that serves little purpose but to eat resources

it's not as bad as initially thought...but I still wouldn;t have it. Not on my primary machine anyway.
