Isnt this the most fun any parent can have, or what?
I darent cut the babys nails because Im such a ham-fisted baboon of a man but I just tried to help my Oh do do them and it was a nightmare.
She told me that some parents bite their babys nails instead of using the cutters but Id Bite the baby in half if I tried it because I have such a huge gob and the OHs teeth arent that good at nipping because shes part rat.
What do YOU do? Cutters? Teeth? Or something else...?

rofl, just nail scissors and a very firm grip on baby's hand so they don't pull away and make the scissors slip :)
When Scarlett first came home from the hospital she kept managing to pull her scratch mits off (before I stitched ribbon on to them) and I tried to use both nail scissors and clippers but I cut her wee finger and it bled like you wouldn't believe, in fact it left a little black blood blister for nearly 3 weeks!
At the hospital (unrelated honestly) the Dr said she recommends parents to bite their kids' nails and this is what I now do. Although the only problem I find with this is that it can occasionally leave wee ragged bits that they often scratch themselves with.

Only this very week I upheld the tradition started by my mum on Cosycub when he was tiny, by taking the wee tip off of Wolfcub's finger while cutting his nails for the first time. Poor mooch :(

I use clippers to trim Joe's nails. Ive got the hang of it now (after almost a year). I tend to trim them when he's having a nap
Hated doing this at first, my OH has never done it - he says im much better at it than him lol - any excuse xx
We have a battle plan for this
OH holds baby i clamp babies arm under mine and take a firm hold of babies hand and finger then use the smaller nail clippers and clip away.
Not had a problem no missing fingers, no blood etc.
i always clip them when they are sleeping :) or tear them if i can get a grip and its already caught!

I bite them - makes me sound mean doesn't it lol
There's only one way to do it. Wait until he's asleep!
I always did mine when he was asleep, easiest way. He loves having his finger nails done now he is three, but hates his toe nails done. He has such tickly feet like me.:hihi:
