its dead, so its not suffering, so i dont think owt could be done....plus i dont know where they live, they brought it me....and if i did know, reported them, would expect my windows put through etc..or jumped on 1 dark night.
cooljules 30-11-2008, 19:06 im gonna do a post mortom tomorrow on it, to see if it is what i think it is, the big lump...
knighthawk 30-11-2008, 19:20 It looks to me that its got food undigested in its gut ...probably caused by poor heating.....reptiles cant digest food when cold and it rots in there guts....I see reptiles suffering everyday..people think its safe to put them in a tank or vivarium with not thermostats or heating and just leave them too it and its left down to people like me and Jules to look after them as the RSPCA dont want to no and there is no specialist Reptile vets in Sheffield :help:

yeah. forgot you wernt called midnight warrior on here, plus on the fone i call you wayne anyway!!! hehe
agree about the vet thing, even my rep vet asks me for advice, which shocks me, i dont know much at all...only usually what i have learnt by having to deal with other peoples lack of care...but in this case, he knew something was wrong many months ago, and at worst if a vet couldnt save it, it could have been put out of its suffering....
people make mistakes and can put things right, but this is nothing more than willful neglect.
anyway its gonna get burried with the others reps that died cos of illness from bad owners...and im hoping its the last!

cooljules 01-12-2008, 18:12 im doing a post mortem this minute, just stopped for a fag and cuppa. so far cut the snake from bottom to top, pulled the skin back and got access to all the organs. soon i cut the stomach open etc.
taking lots of fotos as i go along, and will write a essay with foto descriptions if anyone is interested, to find the cause of death, and if it could have been saved with vets treatment or at least put out of is misery for the last few months..
Lorna is doing ok, taking fotos, and is finding it very interesting..
amazing things snakes, long before the dinosaurs etc!
