Cool edit says 'fhtpro.flt' 'error opening output file'
My pro tools wont do it either, but that maybe a seperate issue with the version i've got
Don't want to cheat and convert wav to mp3 unless there is a quick compressor, tried a few and they seemed to take about 10 hours! lol
help!
export from what?? try dbpoweramp
Exact Audio Copy? (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/)
I know that can process wav files to mp3, and it's free and very good too

from the programes Cool Edit Pro and Pro Tools as stated above....they are music production based software but as both seem to be giving me similar problems I think its an overall computer problem.
Can you export to a wav file instead and then encode that using one of the programs above?

My first computer took 17 minutes to convert wav to mp3.... 10 years ago! in DOS, too.
With a current machine you're looking at around 10 seconds tops, unless it's a really long file. But still not very long!
Sure it's not a corrupted codec file causing the issue?

I do think it could be the codec, as my media player seems to also be playing some avi's without any sound that previously worked, ive reinstalled the klcodec pack again..but no change
converting will prob end up my easy fix..just tried one and yeah it took forever and then crashed! so obviously a bad programe choice
