View Full Version : Blunkett car stolen and crashed
A CAR used by Sheffield MP David Blunkett was involved in a crash and found abandoned in Sheffield before officials realised it had been stolen.
The Volvo was found on Bramall Lane early on Sunday after a report of a collision.
Police found the vehicle empty and signs that it had been involved in a smash.
They said the car – which was a government vehicle belonging to a pool Mr Blunkett had access to – was not reported stolen at the time.
The force has not revealed where the car was stolen from but Mr Blunkett, who is now the Work and Pensions Secretary, was at his Derbyshire home at the time.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further inquiries.
A national newspaper report claims that when police officers swooped on the man's house a stash of guns was found.
South Yorkshire Police have refused to comment on the allegation.
Mr Blunkett was unavailable for comment on the incident.

Yes my child - what would you like?
Blimey. Not content with smashing up a Mondeo, a Golf and his own McLaren Merc on the Peak road the other day, Prince Naz is now dipping into Dave "I'm the daddy" Blunkett's car pool. Perhaps. Have the police been round to the nasty, bullying wide-boy's house to check up? In fact, have they been to Naz's place too? Hmm...
Internetowl 01-06-2005, 17:08 seems a little bit suspect only reporting it stolen after it wa found abandoned - another coverup - I bet the Labrador was out on the town, a bit too much to drink and pranged it, then legged it.
Still I'm sure it'll be covered and we'll pick up the costs for it.
Dj_Shadowman 01-06-2005, 17:14 WTF was Blunkett doing driving !

Can I just ask why you have written like this???
It doesn’t bother me, just interested.
There is only one possible culprit who could have commited this dastardly act---------John " two jags " Prescott.
Who else has inside knowledge on how to nick government cars ?
Who else is determined to possess more cars than anyone else in Britain ?
Who was slagged off , together with half the cabinet , by The Prodigal Son , D. Blunkett , before he , "stepped down " for fiddling expenses ?
Motive , means and a history of bad behaviour------it doesn't take a Miss Marple or even a police officer to work out who was behind this outrage.

Mr Blunkett was later found asking a gas lamp the way home

:D Official driver for the highjump then :hihi:
youwhatref 02-06-2005, 10:05 I'm with InternetOwl on this. I think curiosity got too much for david and the Lab.
David set off driving with instructions on when to turn being Barked by the dog. David would simply reward him with a biscuit each time., Problem arose at Bramall Lanre when he ran out of Gravy bones and the dog got a little peeved!
Thing is, nobody would have noticed until the actual impact, as a significant proportion of Sheffield motorists seem to drive as if they were blind anyhow.
Internetowl 13-06-2005, 15:57 seems the bloke who 'borrowed' Blunketts car was also found with a firearm when they raided his home. I wonder how many times he's 'borrowed' the car in the past? Perhaps the official driver should be sacked - esp if it can be proved that she knew he was doing it - another wanabee gangster hits the dust...
At 43 years old, he's a bit too late to be prowling tha 'hood.

Internetowl 13-06-2005, 19:30 there's no truth in the rumour thats he's another of Blunketts love children then ;)
