if tried google and cannot find anything about frontline on nursing mums apart from many diff opinions and all are different, plus i cannot find the official frontline website no matter how i try lol, it comes up with loads but not the official one

OK- the pack warnings would have a warning on if you couldn't use it in pregnant or nursing cats and it doesn't, so I would take it that they now have enough data to change the license to state that it is safe for use in pregnant and lactating queens.

You can't use it for the babies though, until they are 8 weeks old and weighing over 1kg. If mummy is treated though it should reduce their flea loading and you can still use the spray from very early age (a couple of days old if necessary I think).

do you mean frontline spray or any, im just worried if the babies ingest some off her neck it will harm them, i really want to do her as ive noticed some fleas on the babies, im gutted as didnt think she had any, never noticed none on any of them since last time i frontlined them

I think you'll need to separate her from her babies until it's dried, but that's only for a short while and all you'll need to do is to pick a time when she's just fed them so they're all sleepy and full.

Frontline spray is the only flea spray worth bothering with as far as I'm concerned, even though it's a faff getting to the vets to buy it (it's not covered by the same part of vet licensing as the spot on treatment). Especially with tiny kittens I'd spot on treat mummy and then spray treat the babies and change their bedding at the same time.

For future reference, I always use the noah compendium for questions like these. Far more use than google :)

Follow the link, select the first letter of the product you want to find out about (Frontline, Drontal etc.) from the left hand side and then select from the list given.

That'll tell you what age animal you can use the product on, how regularly to use it, what it covers against and the pregnant/nursing question as well as others :)

hi all i got my frontline and its states in the leaflet she can be done, done her she and babies fine, although she went a bit crazy scratching and wouldnt feed them for few hours, she then carried her babies out of the box and under my bed, so i cleared out my wardorbe n gave her that, shes happier now dunno y she went mad moving them n stuff
