I am just wondering if anyone has heard of a Charity that is called Chrystal Radio? It is a charity that is within The Sheffield Childrens Hospital that is a hospital radio station.

Does anyone actually know that we exist.

Get back to me on this! I need to know if we are known!

How do you know not to listen to it. It is better than most proffessional radio stations J-Blaze:|

I'm familiar with it, like Gemma, through knowing a DJ there. Good stuff.

I was involved with it sometime ago, they also have a television channel. Its good, requests can be made for the children as you enter the hospital, then either you can listen to them together or a parent/guardian can say listen at e.g. 7 tonight there will be a surprise.

It was a good project when I was involved.

I stayed at the childrens a couple of years ago with 2 of my kids, they had meningitis, and we had the radio on quite alot, and it helped pass on those very long days of worry.
Both ok now thankgod!

Didn't Richard McCourt (sic?) of 'Dic and Dom' fame used to work there?? (well thats what he told us at school!) You should get him to do a bit of charity/awareness/publicity etc for you!

Correct! He gave me my first radio show when I was 15. Funny world. I've got plenty of embarassing footage of him as a youngster upstairs :D :D

The other famous(ish) person was Anthony Gay, who's now the Boss of Manchester's big radio station, after being boss of Hallam FM for a few years, he was our first ever DJ on air in 1984...

He's the bloke who originally hired me to work at Hallam, I have of course heard of (but not recently heard) Crystal Radio.
