I've never used one before and don't like the idea, one of my cats is very nervous, but it's looking like I might have to. Can anyone give me any recommendations or tell me which to avoid? thanks

Have you thought about a home visit service as opposed to a cattery. What are are you in? we have a list of members who provide this service for most areas of Sheff and surrounding. Your cat will probably be happier at home.

thanks Gemma, that might be a good idea. I'm in Beighton. Is there some kind of organisation or something that people offering this service have to be a member of so that we, the homeowner, knows it is all safe and above board?

Make sure they have a CRB check, and ask see if anyone else has used them. I'm sure you can check them out with the councils too

Yes they do. There are a couple on here who offer the service Anna293 is S6 so she may not cover but I am sure Teeny covers your area.

Both the above offer as a professional business and have all the relevant experience and CRB checks. If you Pm either of those two, if they dont cover then they will know who can.

thanks so much, that's brilliant. Someone who covers my area has pm'd me after seeing this thread, but I'll check out the other two you suggested as well.

Bubu is lovely and covers your area am sure she'll be happy to help if she's got availability. There's also Pet-Walkiz in your area although not sure if they are still trading as their website has been out of action for months and not seen Dawn on here

Dawn/pet-walkiz has a long list of regular clients who have been with her a long time and does not need to advertise and was recieving so many calls via the website she had to close it down..but shes very well and very busy!
