Hi ppl
I need help! My brother is coming over from abroad, he's 14, and i have no idea where to take him beside the obvious places like Alton Towers etc. Open to any suggestions, im desperate, he gets here in 3 weeks!
Cheers
B
Ask him to have a look on the internet and choose a couple of places himself. That will give you a good idea of where to start looking

tricky one - it depends what he is into...
Star Wars at UGC?
a summers treck up Mamtor?
a trip down the Devils Arse at Castleton?
Magma?
The new Doncaster Sheffield Airport?
A trip to Meadowhall? (give him £50)
Go Karting?
LaserQuest?
Ski Village?
Alton Towers for the day or even an overnighter in the hotel?
Cleethorpes?!?
or a day in Rotherham?
Regards,
Big

Now, now bigflesh.......for all we know, purple_irony might actually like his 14 year old brother!
:hihi:
Take him on a mountain climb, even if it is up Kinder Scout.
Walking in Dovedale, or any of the Derbyshire Dales.
Hire a bike at Tissington, Parsley Hay, Middleton Top Engine House or the Derwent Dams.

If he's the active type I would definitely recommend taking him up Kinder Scout. Its great fun jumping in the peat bogs at the top and it’s a bit different from taking him shopping etc.
Take him to Kingdom, ohh sorry you said 14, he might be abt too mature for the crowd there, on a serious note, see whats cracking off at the arena, for a down side, buy him a hoody and some fingerless mittens let him go fighten old ladies on the moor!
How about 'rock' climbing at the wall next door to CCC, near Bramall lane?
And there's ice skating at the Ice Centre near Don Valley then you can go to the cinema and for grub nearby
Matlock Bath is great.
There is the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham, and go down the cavern; you can sit outside a pub and eat (I'd recommend the Fishpond), there's chip shops, arcades (just like being at the sea-side but in Derbyshire). It's full of bikers and just far cooler than it ought to be. We take my little brother - he's ten, so a fair bit younger, but he loves it there.

Why not be dreadfully hiptastic and take him to the roller-board park at Devonshire green, where all ‘the kids’ hang out. You could then listen to some speed shed music on someone’s latest stereogram, like all the latest hits like 50p or Destiny’s sprog. Perhaps get some drugs like LSO and ecstasy bongs before getting totally monged on a fattiboombatty. Back home and veg in front of hollyoaks and eat some crisps…. Perfect it you are 14.:D
