I had considered going to a meet but I get more and more worried...

Do you think it kind of takes something away from the forum when you meet each other ? wouldn't be the same i should imagine.

Although it seems the forumers get along much better now most of them have finely met, now that they have to be careful what they say to each other, toned down a bit,

it all worries me a bit. Saves on therapists I suppose:D

Some of us don't get any choice about meeting other forumers - do we Kristian? :suspect:

I must admit I do like the 'mystery' of the people on here poppins, the images that the usernames conjour up, and whatever my imagination adds.
We have met about four forumers through the 'for sale' section when I have been selling stuff,
and another (and husband) through dog walking meets.

I've been to about 6 meets now. On my first ever meet, and feeling somewhat nervous, the second person I was introduced to happened to be Yodameister....and we'd just 'clashed' on a thread the night before! He's a great guy, and entitled to his views - however wrong they are :heyhey: (Sorry Yoda - only joking!).

The forum meets are fun and lively affairs. It is actually interesting to put a face to a name, and everyone is just so friendly.

Got back from my last meet, went back on the forum, and in no time found myself locked into a heated debate with the guy I'd just been drinking with.....Kristian the Mod!

Do come to a meet Robbie! Every Sunday, 8.00pm. Devonshire Cat, and Trippets Wine Bar on a Wednesday, same time.

Oh...and what happened to Msbehavin at the Woodseats meet she organised? Nobikejohn and I turned up on time, but when we had to leave an hour later - there was only Rubydazzler, Sian and Kristian keeping each other company. We all know Rubydazzler runs on Ruby time, but where was Msbehavin? We missed you!

PS Not to mention Hels with her red wine problem.......! :heyhey:

I miss the Forum meets, although I was always working/supervising when they were taking place at the Classic Rock Bar. Must try to come down to one to see how they're getting on and to see the old faces. Which old faces still come along?

I've been pleasantly surprised lately with people I've met at the meets. Two people in particular I really didn't like on-line I've found to be lovely individuals. I guess you never can tell...

I can't say I've met anyone at the meets that I really disliked (hmm, well, perhaps with one possible exception). There has even been the odd person I really liked too :roll: :P :heyhey:

Maybe, but I've just read a post of yours on another thread, where you reveal you will be 60 in 2 years time. Guess what Ruby - we're both 58! My birthday is in April - so which of us is the oldest?

Come along to a forum meet mrchinnery - at 50, you'll definitely be one of the young 'uns when Ruby and I are there!

I was only quoting what I was told in chat by cloudybay ... that I was the oldest person on the Forum (don't tell hazel that, she'll think I'm after her crown lol) ... which Andy then commuted to merely being the oldest person to go to meets ...:cool:

No you're definitely not. One of the original members from back in the day, who still posts from time to time, called "Halevan" is in his 70s.

I can now say that forumers are not odd, ive met my first forum member today and the member was a gem, We are not words and pictures on a web page.:clap: we are human.:clap:
