View Full Version : Where to Buy Dog Boots / What Kind?
Going to mother's tomorrow, and she's just redecorated the living room. I've been ordered to buy doggy boots to keep Zach's paws clean.
What are the best ones and where can I get them? I've looked at a few brands and thought I'd ask you all first.
you're joking?
it'll take AGES for him to get used to those
take a couple of old sheets and cover the carpet - much easier and a heck of a lot cheaper
we wash Brude's paws if necessary - dunk them in a dog bowl and dry them off with a dog towel
I am not joking! LOL. Difficult times ahead, I think!!
Why oh why did she choose NOW to get a new carpet?
JarvisCocker 27-11-2008, 15:08 I wouldn't be visiting with the dog if that were the case.
lol just take a towel and make sure you wipe his feet well. I have the same problem when visiting my mum she has nice new cream carpets unlike ours lol
DiamondGirl 27-11-2008, 15:27 All i can suggest is google. Im sure you dont want approval of people on here lol. I cant recommend any so all i can suggest is see if you can find a review site or something good luck.
I got given leg warmers for mojo so far they have just been put on a doll not a dog!!!
Hehehe. I'm not quite ready for leg warmers yet. They were bad enough back in the '80s.
Thanks for all the comments, will give it serious thought.
If Zach is anything like any other dog or cat I know, keeping something like boots on will be a major issue unless you work on it slowly.
If you need to do it tomorrow take towels and a baby bath or washing up bowl with you so that you can dip his paws and wash his undercarriage after walks, and a blanket for him to lie on.
baby's socks are probably the best thing if your mother is going to insist
they're cheap enough, and more comfortable for the dog, and you can get them in any 24hr supermarket which has a clothing section
we used baby socks on Badger when he had a sore paw!! needless to say keeping them on was an issue plus the fact he really hated it!!! the leg warmers look better on the doll than on the dog !!! although as she doesn't have much coat she does wear a hoodie
Personally I would rather not visit your mother with the dog. Do you have to take him to your mothers?
We've discussed it and she's ready for World War Zach!
I plan on making sure he can't get into the living room until he's suitably washed :)

I dont think your invited to her mothers :hihi:
The boots are horrid for dogs to get used to and they're not easy to keep on certain shaped feet/legs either.
Try getting hold of a microfibre dog towel, and even a microfibre wash mitt if you like (I don't have any in stock yet I'm afraid) as they are great for getting rid of muck of their feet and making sure they're dry before allowing them in.
I got one recently and my spotties can go out for a nice muddy walk, come in and be dried off with the microfibre towel (which also removes dirt as well as drying) and go straight into the lounge where we have recently cleaned the carpet!
Can't recommend them enough.
