well now you're in the pets section...

... no animal agency supports purchasing pets as presents for Christmas, as it really isn't the best environment for allowing a new pet to settle into its new home - in fact it's a terrifying experience!

Please consider giving your son an IOU and/or a picture for the actual day, and go to collect his present after all of the celebrations are over

i agree with strix, its so busy and stressful at christmas and the whole holiday period. It may be too much for the little mite. Why not wait until just after the new year and head down to the rescue centre and let him pick his own? You could buy all the stuff the cat needs and give that to him at christmas with the promise he will get to pick one.

this means you can get xmas over with and not have to worry about the little bugger pulling down all your decorations! :)

No lectures babe, just remember a kitten is for life NOT just for xmas, and it's you who will have to stump up for vets bills etc and possible neutering etc.

Excellent idea letting your lad pick one for himself from a rescue centre!!!:hihi:

my son has asked santa for a puppy, i told him santa couldn't bring puppies and have got him a toy one instead.....they cost £10 and don't have vets bills, food bills and nearly the responsibilities of a child they have some great toy kittens in toys r us:)

I've got my niece a toy kitten too, even though I've got some gorgeous real life kittens fostered here!

Unless mummy and daddy want to get her a real animal then there's no way I'd think of even talking with her about having a real animal because she's not anything like old enough to look after whatever animal she gets.
