Did anyone see tonight's Calendar? It highlighted the menace of junk mail competitions. A 93 year old man had lost £25'000 on junk mail competitions. It seems that once you enter these too-good-to be-true competitions they sell your address on to other 'companies' who in turn send you junk mail. As I understand you phone a premium rate phone number to check if you are the 'lucky winner' which runs into pounds. The people are hard to trace as they use P.O. box numbers and some are companies abroad. The advice given on Calendar was - if you think the offer is too good to be true, then it often is and to throw ( carefull not to leave your details on the paperwork ) away.

I never succumb to these pathetic attempts to entice and throw them on the fire!
