View Full Version : Axis Studio Recording Offers
Axis Studio 26-11-2008, 18:45 Hello Sheffield bands & musicians.
In case you don't know, Axis is one of the finest recording studios in the North of England with an incredible 1000 square foot live room with baby grand piano, a great vibe and a track record going back 20 odd years.
We're offering some hefty discounts on recording time at the moment. I mean seriously cheap deals :loopy: Check out our website at www.loveaxis.com for more info & let us know what you think.
May I ask, do you have sound on sound facility?
I play a foot tapping rhythm on Jaws Harp and also play a captivating melody by comb and paper. Alas the wife can't keep time and is reluctant to play the Harp since chipping a tooth. Is there a way I could combine my own renditions to give the illusion of two people playing at once and take away the result on a 45RPM demonstration disk?
Axis Studio 27-11-2008, 11:32 Indeed! We can almost fulfill your every desire. I say almost because, as you may well know, the 45rpm disc is now very hard to come by. May I suggest the slightly more modern format of 8 track cartridge?

I do have an 8 track in my Hillman, but sadly the car has been rusting in my garage for some years and the battery is flat. I never did understand 8 track anyhow as my Grand Funk Railroad cartridge has 12 tracks on it!
For my part I only want to record one track and naively thought a "single" would be the appropriate format, but already I see you're sneakily trying to get me to pay for eight tracks.
I estimate completing my single in under ten minutes including false starts, so maybe I could fill the rest of my hour in the studio with some Christmas melodies and a monologue. My I enquire as to the cost of this venture?
Axis Studio 27-11-2008, 12:36 I think you may be somewhat confused by my use of technical jargon there, I do apologise. Rest assured that there was no intention to sneak any extra charges or fees.
The cost would be somewhere in the region of £7 4s 6d. Bear in mind that because of the generous cut in VAT brought in recently that the cost is now a whole 2d cheaper than it was this time last month so that's a real bargain.
Being a classic car enthusiast I may also be interested in your Hillman as part payment. Could you please send me some pictures of your wife form various angles and in several poses depicting scenes from the film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' to help me come to a decision? (Plain brown envelope please)
I've arranged to have the Hillman towed to the pull-in outside the AVEC building, and the wife is squeezing into her big shoulder jacket and shorts in the spare bedroom.
I've worked out that at £7 an hour (minus the classic car and wife's photos) I can afford to block book the whole of December and it should come to about £400.
My next door neighbours lad Alex is in a band, the something Monkeys, he said he will use up all the remaining time after I’ve done my hour. He seemed very pleased.
I hope this is advantageous to us all. See you on the 1st!
Axis Studio 27-11-2008, 18:09 Well that's December taken care of then :P
Anyone else interested? :)

Axis Studio 30-11-2008, 11:12 Hello Mikebarton,
Yes I was just going along with Norbert's leg pulling :).
If you're serious about doing some recording, please PM me and I'll let you have my number so we can arrange for you to pop down the studio, have a look around and a chat about what you need.
Cheers,
Mike
Axis Studio 08-12-2008, 18:18 Yep, we can open or import pretty much any format to mix, Discounted rates still apply but we could probably strike a deal if you needed less than a day. PM me your number and I'll give you a ring to arrange a time to pop in and have a chat. If possible bring a CD with your unfinished mixes and I'll do what I can to help you out.
Cheers
Mike
macmellus 18-12-2008, 01:02 Looks like an impressive set-up. Do you ever require any session musicians?
