Hey I’m a regular visitor of London Road, and as much as I enjoy the atmosphere and restaurants / takeaways located there I think it misses something>>>

As the roads primarily theme is food, I think it could do with another food joint, how about a nice Mexican or a decent Indian takeaway (no offence but current Indian takeaways are kinda naff:gag:). Possibly restaurant / takeaway would be nice:thumbsup:.. Has anybody got any suggestions?

A few slightly more upmarket bars or other drinking establishments.

London Road has one of the cheapest Pubs in Sheffield! £1.30 for a J2O last time I was in there, Fright Night 2007 that was, in The Scholar.

A makeover - new pavements, some trees, new street furniture, nice street lamps and a damned good clean! It would make all the difference.

It definatly needs some decent pubs like the ones on eccy road abit more classy. The pubs on london road are ok if your in your 60s lol!

The scholar is a nice pub, but apart from that they all seem a bit ****. A few more casual, chilled out places to drink would go down a treat. Having said that i'm a half hour walk from London Road so i'm not too bothered. Could have done with a bit more variety when it came to drinking last year though, although the Scholar did make a good local.

Over priced chain restuarants.

seriously what it does need is a good indian, Jumeria is not that great and aroma is a joke, is it shut now?

what is wrong with the crown or the cremorne, both decent pubs!!?!

Mind you if you need someone else to make an atmosphere for you're night then you need to get some friends or some new ones.

A chinese restaurant is just what london road needs.

Ha Ha I lived just off London Road earlier this year...Although even with a makeover you would still have all the people lining up outside the chemist to get their Methadone & the guy outside the paper shop fallen over, with his trousers round his ankles.....

What a load of rubbish. It was hardly for proper music lovers - sheep like 'clubbers' maybe, but it really wasn't for people into proper music.

It seems that some appear to believe that London Road needs a Subway sandwich shop and possibly even a Starbucks coffee shop. Personally I don't want them but others may. Maybe we could all do withouth the temptation of another meatball mariana!

Google "Subway Sheffield" for evidence. I can't post a link because this is my first post and it isn't allowed. More writing less reading!

Subway's planning application is still in the public consultation stage. I'll post a link when I have it. I think it is planned to be near Sainsbury's, under the Unite student building.

Some music shops, a Starbucks, A subway, some independent coffee shops, a big internet cafe, another art gallery, osme nice restaurants doing english food, conveneince stores without awning selling dried up fruits, a proper area off it for all the very good street and wall art to be done and displayed, re-open that boarded up pub which was nice and give it a make over, an electronics /hi fi shop, a bakery, get rid of some of the kebab shops too many of them dragging the area down, but keep the nice mix of ethnic restaurants thats there, do somehting with the basement area under candythown have nice specialist shops, buil don the car park next Tim Po, more pedestrian crossings, traffic calmers, more green areas, reopen Bohans irish cafe, bring back Bukowskis one of the best bohemian arty bar/cafe to ever have been run in sheffield in my opinion, amother pub or 2 down the abbeydale rd way its a long dry stretch - oh and dont get me started on Abbeydale rd anyway ....

hey Carborundum thats some good ideas... ive heard that they will be some new outlets opening around Sainsbury's (the Forge)... Subways for defo but not to sure on the rest.
I agree the whole road could do with a good remake.
Plus i also heard that the Llyods pharmacy has stopped selling the methadone, so hopefully no more druggies!!!
